Five cute goats, dubbed "Leyangyang," the mascots of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, and Haibao, mascot of the 2010 World Expo, teamed up yesterday in downtown Guangzhou to promote the two events.
The cute group of mascots opened their arms and welcomed friends across the globe to the two events at Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, one of the three traditional flourishing commercial centers in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province.
Statues of the mascots will appear at both Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street and Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport.
Meanwhile, Guangzhou also revealed its two exhibition cases in the Urban Best Practices Area yesterday. One will focus the city's practices in water treatment and the other will reflect its eco-friendly moves in creating a livable homeland.
Wan Qingliang, vice governor of Guangdong Provincial Government, and Huang Yaocheng, counselor for national participation with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, attend the ceremony.
